Lower Yoder Township Office

Lower Yoder Township Office Yoder Twp was created in 1858 until it was divided into Lower and Upper Yoder Twps in 1879. Each twp has since been the birthplace of a new municipality.

Westmont Boro was once part of Upper Yoder Twp and Brownstown Boro was part of Lower Yoder Twp.

Notice:
Due to the current State of Emergency, Burn Permits are temporarily not required for controlled burns on private property. From Tuesday through Saturday, residents may conduct controlled burns—defined as carefully set and actively maintained fires used to dispose of limbs, leaves, and small brush.

This policy is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice.

Community Notice:

The Township has placed two dumpsters at the D Street Ballfield for residents who have spoiled food they would like to dispose of.

Residents are welcome to use these dumpsters for spoiled food disposal. Thank you for helping keep our community clean and safe.

The Lower Yoder Township Fire Department will be opening a cooling station today at 1:30 PM for anyone in the community who needs a safe, cool place to escape the heat.

We still have residences without power, and some people may rely on medical equipment or devices that need electricity to operate. Be Safe.

Waste Management was unable to service Virginia Ave., Duwell Street, Start Street, and Angler.

WM will return on Tuesday to collect your garbage, please place your garbage out Monday evening.

Lower Yoder Township was declared a state of emergency effective immediately due to ongoing storm related incidents and hazardous conditions

Officials are asking the public to stay out of Lower Yoder Township if at all possible and not to use the Township as a travel route.

Emergency crews are actively working throughout the area and keeping roadways clear will allow responders to safely reach thoses needing assistance.

Residence are urged to stay home. Stay safe and avoid unnecessary travel.
