Peddlers in town !!!

Recently we have had multiple companies that have sent people in to Johnston City knocking on your door and trying to sell you something. If this happens the first thing you should do is ask to see their peddlers license, which is issued to the person and not the companies that they get at city hall. In order for them to receive this license I do a background check on that person to insure that they are free of felonies. If they can’t produce the license call city hall immediately. This license is only good Monday through Saturday 10am-5pm. No sundays or national holidays. If it is after those hours or on weekends call us at 618-983-5888. If you call and make an appointment with someone to come to your house to talk with them about purchasing something from them (security system, siding, roofing etc.) no permit is required.

ATTENTION ATTENTION

ATTENTION! Due to the inclement weather for tomorrow, this event has been moved to SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH. Santa pics will start at 1:00 and the lighting of the tree will take place at nightfall. We are trying to contact all volunteers and vendors but please share this post in case we miss anyone. It will be COLD, so bundle up, but supposed to be clear skies so come out and let the kids have some fun and stick around for the arctic drop giveaway!!! I have gotten reports of someone citizens getting calls from someone claiming to be from police officers association wanting donations. Do not donate they’re not legitimate. The call came from a 630 area code but with computer generated numbers it’s possible to come from any number

I just spoke with IDOT and they’re doing bridge deck sealing the night of Monday the 21st. They will be doing all the exits on I-57 in Williamson County between the hours of 2100 (9pm through 6am) 0600 on the 22nd. Each exit should only be closed for approximately 2 hours. Emergency vehicles will still have access if they come to a closed exit.
