This morning, some of our members visited Johnson City CSD to place a brand new dictionary in the hands of every third grader. 180 books in all! This cherished tradition is a reflection of our commitment to literacy and to the bright futures of Johnson City's youngest readers. We are so proud to carry it forward year after year.

Earlier this week, a few of our members were out at the traffic circle placing flags ahead of Memorial Day. A small gesture to honor those who gave everything. Thank you to all who served.

Earlier this week our club was joined by Vikki Collazo, Chenango-Delaware District Executive of the Baden Powell Council of Scouts. Vikki shared the benefits and opportunities scouting offers young people. We were also joined by Declan, a local student working toward his Eagle Scout rank with a project to help beautify Boland Park.

At our evening meeting last night, President Ben Lainhart officially inducted our newest member, David Goguen. Born and raised in Johnson City, David is active in the community serving on the Johnson City CSD school board and the Your Home Public Library board. David is Executive Director at Broome-Tioga Workforce. Welcome, David!

This past weekend, Johnson City Rotary members were out in the community as part of the CNY Rotary Epic Day of Service, a district-wide day of action with Rotary clubs across Central New York and beyond all serving at the same time.

Our members cleaned up the traffic circle and made a run to the farmers market, purchasing fresh food and delivering it to St. James Food Pantry.

Thank you to Broome County Clerk Aaron Martin for attending our meeting this morning. He talked and answered questions about everything the Broome County Clerk's Office does in our community. And he's also a long-time member of Vestal Rotary Club!

Thank you to Tara Terry, Executive Director of The Bridge Community Center, for joining us this morning! From after-school programs like cooking classes, STEM activities, and arts & crafts to providing a healthy evening meal, The Bridge is doing important work in Johnson City. We're lucky to have them.

Yesterday we partnered with Binghamton University Alumni Association and Village of Johnson City on a clean up at CFJ Park. Volunteers gathered to pick up garbage and dismantle and rebuild flower boxes.
