The Manna House was initially founded in 1998 by friends with a passion to serve veterans in a supportive community with safe, decent and affordable housing in a way and place that could we claimed together as "home."

On this and every Veteran's Day we honor their service in the US Armed Forces and the stories we share together as a community of friends and fellow travelers.

The Manna House family joins the greater Johnson City community in our shock and grief over the loss of our friend and colleague, The Reverend Patty Muse.

Patty's work with our downtown friends and neighbors through Munsey's Melting Pot was essential and inspirational to both the people we serve and the professionals who joined her in the work and passions we shared. Pastor Patty never met a stranger that she didn't offer some kindness, a genuine offer to help or the chance to share her love of Jesus Christ.

In the paraphrased words of Rev. Carol Wilson, Munsey's Senior Pastor, let's all hold each other a little more closely, pay attention to those who may be hurting and offer our prayers and support to all who are struggling---whether or not we know of their struggles.

Our prayers are with her husband Terry, her family, the Munsey Memorial UMC congregation and the many thousands of lives to which she brought much loving care and support.

We will miss you, Patty. Godspeed.

Patty Muse, minister of discipleship and outreach at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church and a cornerstone of the church’s Melting Pot dining room and downtown outreach programs, died unexpectedly on
