Today's the Day!

The Flag Day Celebration and Retirement Ceremony kicks off this morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Blanco County Veterans Memorial, 300 N. Nugent.

Bring your worn, torn, or faded American flags for proper retirement and join us as we honor our nation's flag and those who have served.

After the ceremony, join us at Community Park for a day of family fun featuring:
• Free pool admission courtesy of the City of Johnson City (12 pm-7 pm)
• Complimentary hot dogs and hamburgers beginning at noon. (While supplies last)
• Touch-a-Truck with the Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department and Johnson City Police Department
• Washer pit games
• Outdoor music
• Children's activities and educational exhibits

The event is free and open to everyone. Gather your family and friends and come celebrate Flag Day with us.

Tomorrow is Flag Day in Johnson City!

Join us for a day of patriotism, community, and family fun at the Flag Day Celebration and Retirement Ceremony on Saturday, June 13.

The day begins at 10:00 a.m. with a Flag Retirement Ceremony at the Blanco County Veterans Memorial (300 N. Nugent). Community members are encouraged to bring worn, torn, or faded American flags for proper retirement.

Following the ceremony, enjoy:
• Free pool admission courtesy of the City of Johnson City (12 pm-7 pm)

Glow Night is coming to Community Park Pool. Grab your friends, wear your brightest neon colors, and enjoy an evening of music, swimming, and glowing fun.

Be aware!

Starting tomorrow, June 9, a pavement preservation crew will begin repaving sections of our parking lots at our Johnson City Visitor Center and work will continue until Friday, June 12. The Visitor Center will remain open each day from 9am until 5pm.

Visitors should expect temporary traffic control, construction equipment, periodic noise, and minor delays near active work areas. Alternative street parking includes but is not limited to nearby South Lady Bird Lane, East Elm Street, and South Avenue F in Johnson City. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Join the Hill Country Chapter NSDAR, American Legion Memorial Hwy Post #352, the City of Johnson City, and the Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department for a community-wide Flag Day Celebration on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

The day begins at 10:00 a.m. with a Flag Retirement Ceremony at the Blanco County Veterans Memorial, 300 N. Nugent, Johnson City. Community members are encouraged to bring worn, torn, or faded American flags for proper retirement. The ceremony will be conducted by American Legion Memorial Hwy Post #352 with assistance from the Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department.

Following the ceremony, families are invited to enjoy a day of community fellowship and summer fun at Johnson City Community Park (620 N. Nugent), starting at Noon, including:

• Free pool admission courtesy of the City of Johnson City
• Complimentary hot dogs and hamburgers beginning at Noon (while supplies last).
• Touch-a-Truck featuring vehicles from the Johnson City Volunteer Fire Department and Johnson City Police Department
• Washer pit games
• Outdoor music
• NSDAR educational and art tent with children's activities and family swimming safety information

The event is free and open to all ages.
