Happy retirement, Mrs. Dinah Crowe!

Mrs. Crowe shared that one of the greatest gifts of her career has been “building close friendships with fellow teachers and the parents of my students.” She says she will always cherish the friendships made at the Creek because “we have been through so much together.”

For her students, Mrs. Crowe hopes she has helped them “remember to be kind and to ask for help when they need it.” She also hopes they understand “how important it is to truly listen, because listening is at the heart of learning and growing.” Those lessons will stay with her students far beyond the classroom walls.

As retirement begins, Mrs. Crowe is looking forward to spending time with family and friends, soaking in the beauty of nature, relaxing, and caring for her sweet mother. She is especially excited to teach her grandchildren, Jackson and Helen, to love reading and to watch Leon begin his high school journey. Most of all, she looks forward to embracing “all the simple joys and quiet moments that retirement has to offer.”

Thank you, Mrs. Crowe, for the kindness, wisdom, and love you have poured into generations of students and families. Your impact on Boones Creek will not be forgotten, and you will always be part of the Creek family.

Congratulations on your retirement!

Happy retirement, Mrs. Jill Arnold!

Over the years, Mrs. Arnold taught 3rd, 2nd, and 1st grade, impacting countless students with her patience, kindness, and love for learning. When reflecting on her career, she shared that she will miss “spending my days with children and teachers that I consider a family, and all of the moments that fill my heart with special memories.”

Mrs. Arnold says that “Boones Creek has always felt like home and was truly the place I know I was meant to be,” and we are so thankful that her journey led her here. For more than two decades, she has helped shape young lives while creating a classroom where students felt safe, loved, and encouraged.

Her hope is that she “made a difference for my students by helping them build a strong foundation in academics, and showing them how to treat others with kindness, patience, and respect.” She also hopes her students carry “happy classroom memories” with them for years to come.

As she begins retirement, Mrs. Arnold is looking forward to spending as much time as possible with her family, especially her “three amazing grandchildren” who are lucky to have such a wonderful teacher and role model in their lives.

Happy retirement, Mrs. Jennifer Johnson!

What an incredible 22 years at Boones Creek!

During her time at the Creek, Mrs. Johnson taught kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade, impacting countless students and families along the way. When reflecting on her career, she shared that she will miss “the daily interaction with my colleagues” the most. Through life’s triumphs and sorrows, those coworkers became “my second family.”

To the parents who entrusted their children to her care, Mrs. Johnson says, “Thank you for allowing me to be a chapter in their life. I will cherish those memories.” And for the students lucky enough to call her teacher, she hopes they leave with “memories of fun and laughter along with the learning.”

Mrs. Johnson’s classroom was filled with learning, life lessons, and plenty of unforgettable stories. Her words of wisdom for students include:

🍩 “Don’t cook donuts…it’s safer to buy them.”
🍦 “Always look before you run into the road toward the ice cream truck…because cars don’t always stop.”
🌵 “Don’t trust your sibling when they tell you to jump…especially when you tell them you’re afraid. Cactus hurts.”
📚 “Have fun making messes…just remember to clean them up (especially if it’s pages from your math book flying like a ticket parade)”

Her humor, heart, and love for students have made a lasting impact on our school family. Thank you, Mrs. Johnson, for the laughter, the lessons, and the love you shared with generations of Boones Creek students. You will always be part of the Creek family.

Peace out, Mrs. J!

Happy retirement, Mrs. Anne Trask!

Mrs. Trask’s journey in education has taken her from Tennessee to Virginia and back again, with the last 7 years spent serving the students and families of BCE. Throughout her career, she says her favorite part has been watching students grow and mature through the years. She also shared how much she will miss the students, families, faculty, and staff she has worked with, along with getting hugged by the youngest students and having older students stop by to talk and check in.

As a school counselor, Mrs. Trask has been a fierce advocate for students and a constant source of encouragement and compassion. She shared, “My hope has always been for our students to know they are loved for who they are.” She believes deeply in “the worth of all people” and has worked tirelessly to help students appreciate what makes them unique.
