Taylor Malone and I are so grateful to have the opportunity to sprout a long-held dream of offering deep nature-connection experiences for children with the farm as the classroom. The Earth School program year will begin this coming September 2022.

Thank you so much to all of those who have supported our farm dreams over the last decade-- it is an inspiration which came from all of those involved with the JC Food Forests over the years. gratitude!

Hello friends of JC Food Forests!

We are excited to announce that we have had the opportunity to pursue the dream of expanding upon the regenerative local food community-based projects initiated through the Johnson City Food Forests. Our farm, Fauna Forest Farm, is located in Jonesborough, TN and will be offering nature-based educational, therapeutic, and community-connection experiences beginning this summer and Fall. Our first program will be offered for girls ages 8-12.

Check out additional programming we will be offering in 2022 here: https://www.faunaforestfarm.org

And sign up to receive updates on upcoming community events and the return of Food Forest Fridays now that we have a space big enough to fit all attendees! Thank you for all of your support over the past 7 years!! We are so grateful.

At your local JC food forest! If you are interested in nut foraging, check out this interview with Taylor Malone (your resident food forest farmer)... I have had the gift of witnessing Taylor’s passion unfold as he tracks the trees in our area, plants their seeds, collects cuttings with which to graft, and builds funny contraptions to help harvest fruits and nuts 😆 ... his way of keeping connected with these trees as teachers is inspiring, and has brought the world more alive to me, and I believe for others, too, as he shares what he discovers.

The local Honey Bee hive loves our native Mountain Mint (Pycnanthemum muticum). If you need any mountain mint please feel free to dig some up, it grows extremely well! Our patch was donated by Frances Lamberts at the Ardinna Woods Arboretum and Butterfly Garden in Jonesborough, TN. We have never seen so many different species of pollinators on one plant before.

Hello friends, CALL FOR CHILDREN'S OUTDOOR GEAR!

At Seedkeepers Forest School, we believe there is no bad weather for play, only unsuitable clothing. We would like to create a Seedkeepers' Gear Share for families that would find it supportive to have gear that can be borrowed for the year and then shared on to other families once their child outgrows it.

If you have retired/outgrown children's gear that would fit children ages 3-9 that you want to pass on, message me or Seedkeepers Forest School. Many thanks!

Some helpful items include:
*Rainboots
*Closed toe outdoor shoes
*Rain jackets
*Socks
*Waterproof overalls
*Wool layers (pant, leggings, long sleeve shirts)
*Winter coats
*Gloves, Mittens, Gators
*Fleece layers
*Warm vests
*Winter hats
Etc.
