🏡✨ Eastern Eight CDC was proud to participate in NeighborWorks Weeks 2026 by hosting a Homebuyer Social in partnership with HomeTrust Bank!

During the event, attendees learned about homeownership opportunities, lending options, financial education, and housing counseling services available in our community. Representatives from Eastern Eight CDC, HomeTrust Bank, and Bank of Tennessee shared valuable information and resources to help individuals and families take the next steps toward homeownership and financial stability.

Guests also enjoyed dinner, fellowship, and the opportunity to connect with local partners committed to strengthening our communities through education, affordable housing, and economic opportunity.

As a proud member of the NeighborWorks America network, we are honored to support this year’s theme: “Creating Homes, Building America.” Together, we are building stronger communities and brighter futures across Northeast Tennessee.

Eastern Eight Community Development Corporation will be closed on Monday, May 26 in honor of Memorial Day.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We hope everyone has a safe and meaningful holiday weekend with family and friends. ❤️💙

Our office will reopen during normal business hours on Tuesday, May 27.

Fahe’s Achieve Our Mission leadership development program was featured at the Spring Retreat. Moderator Santiago Bunce of Viabosque introduced three panelists. We heard from Sherry Trent (Eastern Eight Community Development Corporation), Kip Parks (Eastern Eight Community Development Corporation), Bethany Taylor-Gilbert (Fahe). Each shared a performance challenge, describing: Where we are. Where do we want to be. How do we get there.

To qualify, applicants must:
• Live in the City of Johnson City
• Be 62 years of age or older OR be disabled
• Meet income eligibility requirements

This week, Fahe staff joined partners and Members in Johnson City for the Regional Housing Policy Summit: Tri-Cities, hosted by The Sycamore Institute .

Bringing together elected officials, developers, service providers, researchers, and state and federal agencies creates space for real, solutions-focused conversations about housing in Northeast Tennessee.

We were especially proud to support Fahe Member Sherry Trent of Eastern Eight Community Development Corporation, who served as a panelist on housing after disaster recovery and rebuilding. Events like this strengthen the relationships that make collaboration possible and keep housing efforts moving forward across the region.

Grateful to connect with Members and partners working to expand housing opportunity in Northeast Tennessee.
