Good Friday morning everyone. Today will feature some early morning valley fog to start, with cool temperatures in the upper 40s to 50s as you head out the door. It turns sunny and seasonably mild this afternoon with highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s. Looking further ahead, showers and thunderstorms arrive and overspread the are later Saturday into Saturday night. Rainfall amounts between 0.50 to 1.00" or locally higher are expected, with highest totals over NE PA and the southern Catskills. Isolated to scattered t'storms linger into Sunday, with warm and humid conditions expected. The weather dries out early next week, with lower humidity and seasonably comfortable temperatures expected. Local details: weather.gov/bgm

Good morning everyone! Valley fog dissipates by the mid-morning hours. A mix of sun and clouds is then expected for the rest of today. Warm temperatures in the mid-70s to mid-80s are forecast this afternoon. Humidity levels gradually fall as breezy west-northwest winds (between 8-15 mph, gusts 20-25 mph) bring drier air into the area. Enjoy 🙂

Showers continue to move across Central New York late this afternoon, but we'll be watching some additional shower and thunderstorm activity moving in from the west this evening that can produce locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds.

Scattered strong to severe storms will be possible starting in the early evening ahead of an approaching cold front. Damaging winds will be the main threat but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. The best chance for severe weather is across the Finger Lakes into the western portion of the Twin Tiers. Rain and storms will push east of the area after midnight. High pressure building in behind the cold front will bring pleasant weather into the weekend with rain chances returning Sunday.

Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible starting late Wednesday afternoon. The greatest potential for the strong to severe storms will be across the far western Finger Lakes area. The primary threat is expected to be strong to damaging wind gusts. Heavy downpours and an isolated tornado can't be ruled out.
