Starting the school year off strong!

On Thursday, August 27, CDT Cox, Day, and Worlock took the next step toward becoming future Army officers by contracting. Congrats to all three on this accomplishment!

Throughout the summer, many cadets from the Buc Battalion had the opportunity to attend Cadet Summer Training, CTLT, Air Assault, and the Nursing Summer Training Program. All of these were amazing opportunities for our cadets to learn, grow, and develop their leadership skills. We are proud of all the cadets who completed training this summer and can’t wait to see how they will use their leadership skills this semester. Go Bucs!

It is with a heavy heart and profound respect that the ETSU Army ROTC Buc Battalion announces the passing of BG(Ret) Bill Stalcup, ETSU Army ROTC class of 1957.

BG Stalcup was the definition of a true patriot. His unwavering love for his country was matched only by his dedication to this program and the generations of Cadets he inspired. Whether he was mentoring future officers, sharing stories of his distinguished military career, or eagerly chatting about his love for classic cars, especially his prized 1957 Chevy, his presence always brought an undeniable warmth and pride to our battalion.

He loved America, he loved the Army, and he loved ETSU ROTC deeply. Sir, thank you for your leadership, your lifetime of mentorship, and your unwavering devotion. On behalf of the Buc Battalion and a grateful nation, thank you for your service. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will forever march on in the hearts of the Buccaneers. Please keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Rest in peace, sir.

The MS3s finished off the semester strong at the range with getting one last chance to qual before they head off to CST. We look forward to seeing how they do this summer at camp.

As the school year comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to give our seniors the chance to share their favorite picture and memory from their time in the battalion. These MS4s have made an impact on the Buc Battalion throughout the past several years. They’ve experienced both highs and lows, but through it all, they worked together as a class to overcome every challenge. They have showed leadership, dedication, and commitment which has helped shape the battalion and inspire cadets. We can’t wait to see them as they commission into the Army as 2nd Lieutenants.

On 23APR2026, students of the College of Business and Technology celebrated all they’ve accomplished this year, from big wins in the classroom to outstanding leadership moments. We want to give a huge shout-out to Cadet Schlesinger for receiving the Military Science Department Outstanding Award. He consistently exceeds expectations, and his hard work does not go unnoticed.

Cadets took on Super Lab with energy and focus—dialing in their land navigation skills and pushing through STX lanes. For the MS3s, this was their opportunity to refine their skills before heading off to CST this summer. High morale, strong teamwork, and plenty of good moments came out of this training. Go Bucs!
