The Johnson City Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Northeast Tennessee, invites the community to Meet the Candidates on Tuesday, September 29, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. at the Centre Langston Centre.

This isn’t a traditional candidate forum or debate. Instead, we’re creating a casual, approachable way to meet the people running for Johnson City Commission and Johnson City Board of Education ahead of early voting.

Candidates will be stationed at tables throughout the room, and guests can move around at their own pace to introduce themselves and have one-on-one conversations. This is a drop-in style format that allows you to ask the questions that matter most to you.

All candidates for Johnson City Commission and Board of Education have been invited to participate, with the majority of candidates expected to attend. Light snacks will be available throughout the evening.

The new Johnson City Leadership class kicked off their retreat by diving into team dynamics with Ron Kastens, exploring Enneagram personality types and how different strengths come together to build better collaboration.

They put those insights straight into practice with a hands-on design challenge. Remember those marshmallow-and-stick towers from elementary school? Our leaders brought that exact creativity and problem-solving back to life.
