Lake County and McHenry County, in partnership with the American Red Cross, are inviting residents impacted by recent severe storms and flooding to visit a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC), a one-stop location where residents can access recovery assistance, meet directly with agencies and get help navigating next steps after flooding.

Two MARCs will be offered, and residents from both counties may go to either location:

Friday, May 1 | 4 - 8 pm
Life Bridge Christian Church
700 W. Liberty Street, Wauconda, IL 60084

Saturday, May 2 | 9 am - 1 pm
Village of Cary City Hall
755 Georgetown Drive, Cary, IL 60013

Hosted by the American Red Cross, the MARC brings together multiple agencies and organizations to help residents take the next steps in their recovery. Residents can meet one-on-one with experts, ask questions and access services that may not be easily available elsewhere.

If your home or property was impacted, even if the damage seems minor, it’s important to find out what type of assistance is available to you. This is an opportunity to meet face-to-face with multiple agencies in one place and get answers specific to your situation. For example, damage to two or more appliances could qualify for financial assistance.

At the MARC, residents can:
* Find out if they may qualify for financial assistance, even for smaller losses
* Report storm and flood damage in person
* Obtain well water sampling kits and instructions
* Learn about financial assistance available to Veterans
* Receive cleanup supplies such as totes, trash bags, gloves, and more
* Speak directly with the Illinois Department of Insurance about claims and coverage
* Connect with agencies, including the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and other support organizations
* Get connected to cleanup assistance services

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to gather information and connect with resources that can help speed their recovery.

Inflows continue to drop but will flatten out for a short time due to the rain. Fox Lake, Upper River, and Pool continue to drop but may hold steady as the rainfall moves through the system. The Lower River is expected to keep dropping as well on the Fox River (Tailwater) Near McHenry Gage.

For everyone interested in what the flooding looks like, this should meet your needs. Please do not drive through flooded roadways. It only makes things worse. The water looks to be going down slowly, which is a great sign.
