On June 11, 2026, a group of Special Olympics athletes and law enforcement officers from the Johns Creek Police Department and surrounding agencies departed from Atlanta, carrying a powerful symbol of inclusion and unity across the country.

Among those participating were our own Captain Tyler Seymour and Deputy Chief John Clifton, both dedicated leaders in the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics. Captain Seymour serves as Georgia's State Director and Executive Council Chairman for LETR, while Deputy Chief Clifton serves as an Executive Council Chairman for the organization.

Through their leadership and commitment, they have helped advance the mission of Special Olympics and contributed to LETR's remarkable achievement of raising more than $1 billion in support of Special Olympics athletes worldwide.

On August 18–19, the Johns Creek Police Department is seeking individuals who are interested in a rewarding career in law enforcement. We are looking for police officers who are kind, compassionate, courageous, and driven by a strong sense of duty and service to others.

This is an open assessment, and you do not need to be a certified peace officer to apply. If you are already certified, that's a plus, but if you're not, don't let that stop you. The Johns Creek Police Department will provide the training you need and send qualified candidates to the police academy.

For more than 18 years, we have built a team of experienced law enforcement professionals dedicated to protecting and serving the Johns Creek community. If you are committed to making a difference, serving with integrity, and helping keep our community safe, we encourage you to explore a career with the Johns Creek Police Department.

Pet Safety Reminder - With rising temps, it’s crucial to keep your pets hydrated and cool! Always provide plenty of fresh water, especially if they’ve been active or outdoors.
Signs of dehydration in pets include:
• Excessive panting or drooling
• Bright red tongue and gums
• Fever or lack of urine
• Rapid pulse, shaking, or weakness
• Vomiting or diarrhea
As dehydration worsens, gums may turn gray—a sign of shock. Don’t wait—seek veterinary care immediately. Let’s keep our furry family members safe all summer long!

Happy National Donut Day.

We would like to clarify something. Police officers do not sit around eating donuts all day.
* Sometimes we stand.
* Sometimes we lean on the patrol car.

Either way, we remain fully committed to supporting local donut shops and maintaining peak donut readiness. It is a tough job. Someone has to do it.
