𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐤 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 – 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟑 - 𝟏𝟗

Eighty percent of U.S. communities depend solely on trucking to deliver goods. National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is a time to rally around our professional truck drivers and show them the appreciation they deserve every day. The Oregon Department of Transportation’s Commerce and Compliance Division recognizes these men and women who show their dedication, perseverance, and determination on our state’s highways.

There are roughly 3.5 million professional truck drivers nationwide, delivering the essential goods our families rely on – from food to fuel to medicine to clothing. The hard-working men and women behind the wheel safely transport more than 11 billion tons of goods and products every year, which account for more than 70% of America’s total annual freight. Join us in recognizing the significant contributions our professional truck drivers make to our lives!

FIRE & OUTDOOR REPORT: Successful Oregon forest grouse hunters are asked to donate a wing and tail from harvested birds to support biological research. Hunters can deposit wings and tails in collection barrels located at major road junctions or highways in hunting areas, select ODFW offices, and popular rural markets. Barrels include paper bags for submitting samples. Place one entire wing and the whole tail (with small rump feathers still attached) in a paper bag and label it with the harvest date, county, and general location. Use one paper bag per wing and tail.

Get the FIRE & OUTDOOR REPORT each weekday on KZHC, KJDY & News102 at 6:20AM, 7:20AM, 3:20PM, and 4:20PM on local fires, outdoor reports, and travel tips courtesy of Jeanette Radinovich State Farm Insurance!
