The McCully Fire has grown to the Northwest into Grant County. As a result the following evacuation advisories have been updated and added. The fire is threatening mostly wilderness areas with no structures threatened at this time. Hunters are reminded to follow restrictions due to the forest closure orders and to remain out of those areas.

The McCully Fire in Baker County is at 400 acres as of this morning and expected to grow. Out of an abundance of caution and in cooperation with Baker County Emergency Management, a Level 2 and smaller Level. 3 evacuation advisory has been established for areas about one mile East and Northeast of Granite to the Baker County line. Due to improved fire conditions the evacuation advisories around the Little Bear, Cottonwood and Shingle Fires (in Grant County only) have been lifted. County Rd 32 is now open. The Level 2 advisory around the Bolonga Fire remains unchanged at a Level 2. For real time updates you can monitor Oregon RAPTOR at;

Grant County Rd 32 (from 395B to Magone Lake) has been closed due to fire activity around the Little Bear Fire. The fire was last reported to be at 63 acres and will be taken over by the same incident management team responsible for the Bolonga and Cottonwood Fires.

Conditions have improved on the Bolonga fire, which is currently being reported at 4,744 acres. The Cottonwood Fire is holding at 723 acres and the new fire, the Little Bear, which was reported last night is holding at 35 acres.

The Bolonga Fire is now well above 4000 acres, roughly doubling in size since jumping its Southern boundary yesterday. Several homes are threatened by the fire, but due to hard work by local structure protection crews, homeowners and local ranchers, as of 0100 this morning, no structures have been lost. The current evacuation zone is still in a Level 3 "Go Now" status. Bolonga Fire update: The fire has grown significantly to the South / Southeast and is endangering several homes. The current evacuation advisory has been upgraded to a Level 3 (Go Now) for the areas, West of Cupper Creek Rd to the Wheeler County line and from the North Fork of the John Day River to Bolonga Creek.

The Bolonga fire has jumped it's lines in the south. The evacuation zone GRN-023 which extends from the John Day North Fork, north to Bolonga Creek is now in a Level 2 (Be Set) status. Watch for additional information as the situation develops this evening.

The Cottonwood Fire was reported this afternoon and has rapidly grown to an estimated 300 acres. The fire is located approximately 15 miles SW of Long Creek and about 8 miles South of Hamilton. Due to hot and dry conditions, evacuation advisories have been issued. The area West of Fox Creek to Cottonwood Road and from about two miles South of Cottonwood Rd in the North to about Belshaw Creek in the South has been placed in a Level 3 (Go Now) advisory. Other areas around that zone have been placed in either a Level 2 (Be Set) or Level 1 (Be Ready) advisory.
