A solemn and meaningful Remembrance of 9/11 was observed by all who gathered at the 9/11 Memorial, a project developed by the students of the Griswold Schools in 2019. The event honored the lives lost and the enduring impact of that tragic day. Participants stood in reflection, paying tribute to the resilience of those who survived and the strength of the community that emerged in its wake. The memorial served as a powerful reminder of unity and shared remembrance. This gathering reinforced the importance of remembrance, the importance of passing the history of that day to future generations, and hope for a future together as one nation as just Americans and not as individuals.

Thank you to all that attended and remembered together. Thank you to the Griswold Volunteer Fire Department , Lisbon Fire Department - CT, Griswold Scouts, Griswold High School Chamber Choir, Griswold High School Wind Ensemble, Tina Falck (First Selectman), Brian Lanoue (State Representative), Heather Somers (State Senator), Sean McKenna (Superintendent), Pauline Marzak (Former Chair Remembrance and Griswold Fire Department), Lou Demicco (Chief Jewett City Fire Department), Pastor Adam Bowles (Castle Church), Lauren Churchill (Griswold High School Chamber Choir), Jessica Bocola (Griswold High School Wind Ensemble), and Colonel "Retired" Kevin Brown (Keynote Speaker).
