Proud day to be a J-Hawk!

Jesup Elementary is so proud to announce that three of our third grade students were awarded National Math Stars (NMS) nominations today. This organization along with the Iowa Department of Education, recognized students who scored in the top 2% on the ISASP math assessment this spring. Charlotte Casillas, Jason Berg, and Casey Thoma all achieved a score that met this criteria. This is a real honor and we are SO proud of them! (The smiles on faces of their parents show how proud they are too.)

We are excited to announce that Dorothy Thompson has donated $4,000 to the Jesup SkillsUSA Chapter! SkillsUSA is a program that helps students turn their talents into careers. It connects them with local industries and provides hands-on learning and leadership skills to prepare them for the workforce. This gift will support teacher Alex Ruehlow’s students by covering travel costs for competitions, providing practice materials and helping students gain the confidence they need to become future leaders. Thank you, Dorothy, for investing in our students! 👏
