This is a reminder to homeowners that signs placed in their yard cannot be on the City right-of-way. The right-of-way is typically from the homeowner's side of the sidewalk to the road way or, if there is no sidewalk, roughly ten feet from the roadway. Signs placed in the right-of-way may be removed and will be kept at City Hall for a representative from the company to claim within 7 days. Thank you for your cooperation!

STORM CLEAN-UP

Following the heavy storms from last night, 4/27/2026, City public works crews will be working actively to clean up trees, limbs, and other debris that are in City streets and right-of-way areas. We will also run street sweepers over the next several days, to handle the smaller debris. The City will allow all residents to dump limbs and tree debris directly at the City burn pit site at East Spruce Street and Cherry Lane, just outside of town – the gate will be open daily thru next Wednesday, May 6, for dumping. Residents unable to haul and dispose of storm debris on their own can contact City Hall at 618-498-3312 to make arrangements for a public works crew to pick up their pile, until May 6. Thanks for your cooperation and assistance as we work together to get the City cleaned up.
