In the beginning of May we held our annual department banquet where we honored both our volunteers and paid staff for their contributions to the community and organization. We presented the Employee of the Year Award to EMT Joseph Peluso. EMT Peluso has been a welcome addition to our department and we are even more excited to announce that he passed his AEMT test today! Congratulations on all your hard work Joe!

Recently several of our providers completed TEMOC which teaches them providing care under fire in hostile situations. This is just the beginning for these 6 providers as they move through several courses to become full-fledged members of our Tactical EMS Team that supports multiple law enforcement agencies in the region.

We are excited to share that Paramedic Louie Mazzante was recently recognized as the 2026 Lycoming County Paramedic of the Year and PHRN Brittani Schwartzer was recognized as the 2026 Lycoming County PHRN of the year. We are very proud of their accomplishments and service they provide to our organization and the communities we serve!

On this day 40 years ago, Jersey Shore Area EMS began providing paramedic coverage. From our humble beginnings of providing BLS care arose the need for advanced life support care. The service and call volume look much different today compared to 40 years ago but the mission has always been the same. Our organization continues to strive for providing top level prehospital care and being a model rural EMS agency.
