The Hudson County Improvement Authority (HCIA) is an autonomous public agency governed by a Board of Commissioners whose members are appointed by the Hudson County Executive and confirmed by the Board of Chosen Freeholders. The

HCIA's professional staff and consultants provide strategic planning and coordination of public policy initiatives on behalf of Hudson County municipalities and residents. In addition, the HCIA supplies vital low interest financial to municipalities to stimulate economic development and regionalization of governmental services.

How to dispose of old batteries? Get a charge out of this! Alkaline batteries can be discarded in the household trash. Other batteries such as rechargeable batteries and car batteries should never be placed in the trash! Bring them to a Hudson County Household Hazardous Waste Event hosted by Craig Guy, Hudson County Executive, and the HCIA. Look for HHW Collection Events being held in the Fall across Hudson County!

This Saturday (6/6), Craig Guy, Hudson County Executive, and the HCIA will be hosting a household hazardous waste collection event at the Municipal Service Complex in Jersey City from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Hudson County residents can bring household hazardous waste, electronics, and tires for recycling. This will be the final HHW Collection Event until the Fall.
