How to dispose of old batteries? Get a charge out of this! Alkaline batteries can be discarded in the household trash. Other batteries such as rechargeable batteries and car batteries should never be placed in the trash! Bring them to a Hudson County Household Hazardous Waste Event hosted by Craig Guy, Hudson County Executive, and the HCIA. Look for HHW Collection Events being held in the Fall across Hudson County!

You should never release balloons into the sky. What goes up must come down, and balloons frequently end up in the water, harming wildlife. The best way to protect the environment from balloons is to deflate them and dispose of them in the trash. 🎈🌍♻

This Saturday (6/6), Craig Guy, Hudson County Executive, and the HCIA will be hosting a household hazardous waste collection event at the Municipal Service Complex in Jersey City from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Hudson County residents can bring household hazardous waste, electronics, and tires for recycling. This will be the final HHW Collection Event until the Fall.
