Women’s Equality Day commemorates the 1920 certification of the 19th Amendment, a milestone that expanded women’s access to participate in American democracy through the right to vote.

We also recognize that for many Black, Latina, Native American, Asian American women, and other communities of color, full access to the ballot came much later. The Voting Rights Act of 1965 was essential in helping secure that right.

As challenges to voting access continue, we honor those who fought for equality and remain committed to a future where every voice is heard.

Today, on Women’s Equality Day we remember, celebrate, commit, and vote.
