The Council Listening sessions are a great way to have small-group or one-on-one conversations with Councilmembers about any topic you care about. Here's an update from last night's session:

Many thanks to those who attended last night's Council Listening Session. We had great discussions on parking and repaving, as well as affordable housing.

On affordable housing - we talked about where we are and how we got here. Round 4 will be tough. We are working to make Round 4 work better, both for affordable housing and for Summit.

Leaders who listen. Council is taking feedback and strengthening the ban. Thanks to all for your hard work to keep Summit protected!

The community and all of Council agree: no AI Data Centers in Summit.

We thank the residents who offered helpful suggestions for modifying the AI Data Center Ban ordinance to keep Summit safe from bad development. We heard you and are taking your ideas forward.

Council has sent the modifications to the city staff and professionals to incorporate into an ordinance for introduction on July 7th. Among the changes proposed are the elimination of the 20MW threshold for automatic prohibition.

In addition, over the coming months, we will explore changes to other components of the city’s regulations related to setbacks near residential zones, noise levels, temporary structures and ongoing compliance.

We thank Summit's Land Use Manager Augusto Dal'Maso and the professionals who led this effort. We are happy with the great progress they have made and will continue to pay attention as the technology evolves.
