Oops! Someone forgot to blow out their sprinklers! Customer called and needed water to be shut off, since it was broken and leaking, we found the shutoff in the ground, shut it off and made our repairs. Followed by a sprinkler blowout. Please watch out for these guys. City workers are the backbone of the city.

With snow in the forecast, City Street crews have been prepping roadways with a de-icer and they're expecting to dispatch plows after midnight.

Please help us with the following:

- Do not obstruct the path of a plow. Plows need to maintain a constant rate of speed to remove snow from the roadway. Braking, turning, or passing in front of a plow can be dangerous for both the driver and the plow operator.

- Stay 30 feet or more behind plows. Plows are also equipped to spray salt and sand onto the roadway - typically at intersections. Staying about three vehicle lengths or more behind plows can save your vehicle some paint damage.

- Slow down. The posted speed limit is for ideal driving conditions. When there is snow or ice on the roadway, drivers should reduce their speed to prevent accidents.

We will begin the seasonal shutoff of Pressurized Irrigation starting October 15. As the irrigation season comes to an end, city crews will start shutting down and winterizing the irrigation stations. Homeowners connected to Pressurized Irrigation are encouraged to winterize their sprinkler systems. The City appreciates the community’s efforts this year to reduce water usage and adjusting watering schedules to lower demand times. Never reach your hand in your water meter box without REALLY looking first

We will still keep installing backflows until the snow flys! This unit is higher than normal because the code is 12” above the highest sprinkler head and there is sprinkler risers in the yard. (Don’t mind the pic, this bad boy is plumb, and level all the way around.)

This particular model is supposed to be installed 12” above the highest sprinkler head. Last year it was installed properly. This is why we are required to go out and inspect/test on a yearly basis.
