MUC for all that served in the Afghanistan Retrograde!

issued a temporary wear memorandum this week authorizing the Meritorious Unit Citation for approved units involved in Afghanistan retrograde operations conducted in August 2021.

HRC’s Awards and Decorations Branch along with the U.S. Army Center of Military History processed approximately 500 MUCs which is awarded to units for exceptionally meritorious conduct during military operations. Units serving in Operation Allies Refuge and Operation Allies Welcome are included in the total.

The temporary wear authorization will allow Soldiers to display the recognition on their uniform until all award elements have been completed. Completion of award elements is expected in early February 2023.
