The Jennings Police Department would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the local businesses and community members who donated to help feed our officers during the Down Home Reunion over Memorial Day weekend.

The overwhelming outpour of support from our community does not go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated. Your generosity, encouragement, and continued backing mean so much to the men and women who proudly serve the City of Jennings each day.

At approximately 11:00 a.m. on May 18, 2026, the Jennings Police Department executed two search warrants in connection with the multiple vehicle burglaries that recently occurred within the city limits.

One search warrant was served at a residence on 5th Street, while the second was served at a residence on McKinley Street. As a result of the searches, officers recovered multiple fi****ms along with additional evidence connected to the burglaries.

At this time, a 15-year-old juvenile and a 17-year-old juvenile have been detained in connection with these crimes.

The Jennings Police Department would like to thank the public for the quick response to our previous post and for providing video footage that proved vital in identifying the suspects involved in these incidents.

Chief Semmes would also like to recognize the officers and detectives involved in this investigation for their outstanding work and dedication in bringing the case to a swift resolution within approximately three hours of receiving the video footage.
