Here is an update from the Ottawa County Road Commission on the reconstruction of Port Sheldon from 40th Ave to 48th Ave.

While a portion of Port Sheldon St. between 40th & 48th Aves. has a base course of asphalt, we remind you that the road is still closed to thru traffic.

Please use the detour route if you don't live within the project limits. And if you do need to travel in the construction zone, please drive with care and lower your speeds. It's not a drag strip. Our construction crews thank you!

Here is some good information from Ottawa County regarding the applications to absentee vote that were recently sent out.

Many residents have received applications to absentee vote. A few things to remember:
1-You are not required to vote absentee. If you wish to vote in person in August and November, you do not need to take any action.
2-This is not a ballot, but an application to vote absentee if you prefer to do so.
3-If you have questions about elections, a great place to start is the new, informative page on miOttawa dedicated to the topic.

As work begins on secondary road resurfacing in the Township, this is good information from the Ottawa County Road Commission regarding their policy for driveway approaches along roads with no valley gutter and no curb.
