Hunting was a favorite pastime during the Jekyll Island Club era, with members and guests hunting quail, pheasant, deer, boar, and more. During the 1894–1895 season alone, more than 1,500 quail were reported among the game hunted.
Today, Jekyll’s diverse habitats serve a different purpose. Hunting is not permitted, allowing the island to remain a safe space for wildlife and offering visitors unmatched opportunities to observe native species in their natural habitat.
