Tonight CFD took some time to do some sprucing up around the station, cleaning up the lawns, reseeding and general outside work. As we were in the process of this project, we were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash. On arrival, it was found to not be serious and we all were back in about an hour to resume our tasks.

Tonight our firefighters conducted search and rescue training as well as Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) training simulating a downed firefighter who required rescue. Even in moderate to heavy rain, this training must go on to ensure our team is prepared for any situation that may occur.

Saturday evening the Cambridge Fire Department held its annual Calcutta event at the VSU-Johnson campus. It was a fun event with a fantastic meal. We would like to thank the college, the staff, and our MC - Joel. Most importantly we would like to thank everyone who purchased tickets, and our sponsors. The funds raised will help us purchase equipment and fund projects, without increasing reliance on our tax support. We hope to see everyone again next year.

Big thank you to our CPR/AED instructor, Heather Blair, for the great refresher this evening.
