THANK YOU, Foothills voters! Final certified results show Ballot Issue 6E passed 77.5% to 22.5%. I’m proud of the fact close to 2/3 of registered voters in the District voted in the November election.

With the successful mill levy extension, the Foothills Board and District staff look forward to maintaining and improving your parks and open spaces, with an emphasis on extending and connecting recreational trails for walkers, runners and bikers. The support of our Foothills community is greatly appreciated.

Temporary Closure of Facilities
Out of an abundance of caution and to keep our residents, visitors and employees healthy, all Foothills Park & Recreation District facilities will be closing to the public effective Saturday, March 14 - Sunday, March 29, 2020. In an effort to comply with health agency recommendations and the direction of Governor Polis, we are doing our part to facilitate social distancing. The District will reassess if prolonged closures are necessary as time and information about COVID-19 continues to evolve. All classes, rentals, and permits will be cancelled during this time. Classes run by Foothills will be prorated and credited back to your account. Permits and rentals will be refunded.

Foothills Golf Course and Meadows Golf Club, as well as all District parks will REMAIN OPEN to the public. Organized activities at these spaces are cancelled.

We know that closing our community facilities will have an impact on our residents and users, but we are facing an unprecedented public health situation and our goal is to keep our community healthy.

Updates will be posted to our website and social media channels.

Lifeguards needed, once again, to keep our pools safe!

Whether you're 😀 or 😢, Jeffco Schools start up tomorrow meaning a large portion of our lifeguards must leave the pools to return to high school or college.
Because of this, we wanted to remind you of our adjusted hours for all Outdoor Pools for the remainder of the week.

Good luck to all our student employees as they return back to school!

We are recruiting volunteers for the Red White and You celebration on July 3rd. Come join in the fun and give back to our community at the same time!

Red White & You - Needs Volunteers
Help support this wonderful community event by helping as a Volunteer! Volunteers are needed on event day and the day after. Volunteer opportunities include set up, parking lot crew, fireworks safety line (best seat in the house for fireworks viewing!) and clean up after the event.

The brand new Splash Park at Clement Park has been fully commissioned and approved for use! I'm thrilled to see grant dollars being leveraged by the District to provide new features for our Foothills community at no charge.
I ask for your vote so I can continue to oversee park improvements in your neighborhoods, thanks to the successful Mill Levy passage last November.
Thanks to Greater Outdoors Colorado (GOCO, including Colorado Lottery), Jefferson County Open Space, South JeffCo Sports Association, and the Foothills Foundation for their monetary support for the Splash Park!
Official opening is May 26th, but the Water features will be turned on during nice spring days. Grand Opening ceremonies are on June 7th at 5:30 pm. Gazebos are now available for rental / day use.

Thanks for covering the election, Columbine Courier. As the reporter explains, both my challenger and I have similar positive views regarding Foothills and getting community feedback. However, my five years of experience, depth of knowledge and perfect attendance at over 60 Board meetings is what differentiates us. I promise to have that same level of commitment in representing my Ward 3 for the next four years.
