Looking to reserve a Jefferson County WI Parks shelter for your special event in 2027? Online reservations open at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 1.

Reservations will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Rates vary based on the shelter's size and features as well as which day you're booking (weekends cost more than weekdays).

Emergency Medical Dispatch begins on June 1! This will enable an enhanced level of response to further safeguard the health and well-being of County residents.

EXCITING NEWS!!!! Jefferson County Launches EMERGENCY MEDICAL DISPATCH (EMD) on June 1st

We are thrilled to announce that Jefferson County will officially go live with Emergency Medical Dispatch starting June 1st! This important step will enhance our ability to provide timely, effective assistance in emergency medical situations. Join us in celebrating this milestone as we work together to keep our community safe and supported.

As part of the EMD process, the dispatcher may ask you a few more questions to better understand your emergency and ensure that you receive the appropriate help. Rest assured, these questions will not delay the arrival of assistance because help is sent immediately while you are on the line.

We recently welcomed several new members to the Jefferson County Board of Supervisors and said farewell to Richard Jones, a retiring Supervisor who made a lasting impact through his service.

Here are some reflections from County leaders who were fortunate to work alongside Richard.

Marc DeVries, Finance Director:
"For the past 20 years, Richard has provided steady leadership, thoughtful guidance, and an unwavering commitment to public service. Through changing budgets, evolving priorities, and no shortage of challenges, he has brought clarity, integrity, and a long-term perspective to every decision. Finance work often happens behind the scenes, but its importance is felt everywhere. Because of his leadership, our financial foundation is stronger, our processes are sounder, and our future is more secure."

"Richard has dedicated his time, talent, and heart to serving our community through his work on the County Board and, beginning in 2007, the Human Services Board. That’s nearly two decades of thoughtful leadership, compassionate decision-making, and a belief in the power of people to make change. Active and retired United States Armed Forces service members joined family, local officials, and neighbors on Memorial Day to dedicate the newly installed Vietnam Memorial Wall - Watertown in Marine Corps League Aero Park.

Watertown's memorial is an exact replica of the original memorial in Washington, D.C. at 80% scale.

The dedication was bookended by airborne tributes to those who lost their lives in the Vietnam War: a flyover by two F-35 stealth strike fighters during the national anthem and the lift-off and departure of a Black Hawk helicopter to conclude the ceremony.

Both tributes featured pilots from Watertown, one of countless U.S. cities and towns that has suffered lasting loss and is eternally grateful to those who have served to protect our freedom.
