22 JHS students have been on the trip of a lifetime for the last two weeks as part of our 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Scotland Exchange program. These lucky students have been to Glasgow, Stirling Castle, the William Wallace Monument, St. Andrew’s (the birthplace of Golf), Edinburgh, and Culzean Castle. They walked, ziplined, biked, and even learned traditional Scottish dances for a Ceilidh! Along with seeing all of the sights, they spent lots of time socializing with their host families and other Scottish students. We can’t wait to return the favor and host our Scottish friends in September for the second part of the exchange!

Checking in on ELA, Fine Arts, and Math teachers (a few said they were too busy to send in a picture, so we will just have to guess what they’re up to) 😜
Stay tuned for other departments in the coming weeks. Of course our teachers all miss their students, but they’re also soaking up family time, travel, and home projects while school is out.
We also have some teachers who have been spending time traveling with students, chaperoning trips to Hawaii and Scotland over the summer. However the JCS community is spending its time right now, we hope it’s safe, fun, and restful (or productive!)

AFJROTC had the opportunity to assist the American Legion Post 56 with their Memorial Day Service a few weeks ago. We love staying connected with our community!

It’s time for our next group of JHS travelers to take off! Our Scotland exchange students and chaperones left for Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 today! Safe travels!

Our Hawaii travelers are back home now, but here are a few more pictures from their last couple of days on the islands, including the Big Island volcano tour and the Polynesian cultural center.
Current and future JHS students are encouraged to apply to attend this trip in coming years: it’s an unforgettable experience!

Waikiki Beach 🏖️. day brought surf 🏄🏻‍♀️ lessons, a hike 🥾 into Diamond Head crater, and a tour of the lighthouse! These JHS travelers are packing in so many cool experiences to their trip!

At today’s faculty luncheon, we honored this year’s retirees: Mr. Pittard, Mr. Farmer, and Coach Navas.
They were presented with rocking camping chairs because we know these guys aren’t going to slow down anytime soon! In fact, Mr. Farmer is not pictured because he’s currently chaperoning our annual National Parks Hawaii trip!

Congratulations on your retirement, everyone, and thank you for your many years of service to students, athletes, and education!

Mr. Cleveland, fearless leader of the annual Hawaii national parks trip, is currently traveling in paradise with 26 lucky JHS students and a handful of chaperones.
The first few days have been packed with both fun (macadamia nut farm and pineapple plantation tours), a visit to the Byodo-in Buddhist Temple, and trips historical sites (Pearl Harbor Museum and the USS Arizona Memorial).
