Missouri Mental Health Foundation

Missouri Mental Health Foundation Learn more about the work we do below! The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by an Executive Director.

The mission of the Foundation is to raise awareness and public understanding of issues impacting individuals and families living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders. The Missouri Mental Health Foundation's (also referred to as MMHF or the Foundation) efforts battle stigma and discrimination, promote care and treatment, and foster inclusion in the community

and workforce. The Foundation collaborates with other organizations, in providing broad-based public education, awareness, and stigma reduction services. Such services may include positive media communications, PSAs, marketing to the general public, providing mental health resource materials and assistance, hosting and/or coordinating special events and training, and providing technical assistance in areas such as suicide prevention, Mental Health First Aid, eating disorders and educational awareness campaigns.

Our Inclusive Golf Program is about more than teaching the game — it fosters community, confidence, and connection.

"My favorite part of the Inclusive Golf Program is that it gives an experience to people that haven't golfed before and wouldn't ever get out to golf. They are actually getting really good at it!" – Mandy

This work is possible thanks to the supporters behind our Inclusive Golf Program — which is where our annual 50/50 Golf Ball Drop comes into play.

Join us October 6, from 5-7 p.m., at Turkey Creek Golf Center for an unforgettable evening as hundreds of golf balls rain down from a helicopter, with the closest to the flag winning half the proceeds and runners-up taking home exclusive prizes. Balls are just $5 each or $20 for five, and every purchase helps create memories and hope to your fellow Missourians.

Today is — a reminder that mental health struggles and suicidal thoughts don’t always look the way we expect.

There is no single “type” of person affected by su***de. It can impact people of any age, background or circumstance. That’s why knowing the signs, checking in on the people around us and taking conversations about su***de seriously matters.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Support is available 24/7.

Su***de doesn’t have a look.

Someone can be smiling, showing up for work, making plans, spending time with family and friends, and still be struggling behind the scenes.

This Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, remember that we don’t always know what someone is carrying. Check in. Ask. Listen. Take it seriously.

You don’t need to have the perfect words—you just need to be there.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
