Carson-Newman University Department of Public Safety The Department of Public Safety is part of the Division of Student Services, falling under the leadership of its Vice President, and Director.

The mission of the Department of Public Safety is to ensure that Carson-Newman University is a safe and secure environment for the campus community to learn and work. The officers are all certified and licensed by the State of Tennessee whose primary duty is to provide 24-hour Police and Security patrol services. The department is responsible for ensuring that both State and Federal laws related to the reporting of campus crime are followed.
