🌟 Nominate a Future Nurse Leader! 🌟

The future of nursing is bright—and it starts with the exceptional students who are already stepping up to lead, inspire, and make a difference.

The Missouri Nurses Association (MONA) Future Nurse Leader Award recognizes graduating nursing students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities throughout their nursing education. Eligible nominees may be graduating from undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral nursing programs.

We encourage nursing faculty and staff to recognize a student who:

✨ Creates a positive learning and working environment
🩺 Embodies the ethics and values of nursing
🌟 Demonstrates leadership among their peers
🤝 Mentors and supports fellow students
💙 Gives back through school and community involvement
📣 Encourages engagement in nursing and student organizations

📅 Nomination Deadline: Thursday, October 1, 2026

Each nursing program may nominate one student per graduating class, and nominations must be submitted by a faculty or staff member who is a current MONA member.

Lori Scheidt, MBA-HCM, Executive Director of the Missouri State Board of Nursing, has been elected President of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).

Her experience and leadership in nursing regulation will help represent Missouri on the national stage.
