On June 2, the Ozark Coalition hosted its annual Legislative Day, bringing together recovery support providers and state leaders for a meaningful discussion on recovery in Missouri. Representatives John Black, Melanie Stinnett, Darin Chappell, Brian Seitz, and Cathy Jo Loy, along with representatives from U.S. Senator Eric Schmidt's office, provided legislative updates, answered questions, and discussed issues impacting recovery services across the state. The conversation highlighted the vital role of recovery support services and reinforced strong bipartisan support for recovery efforts in Missouri.

Christa Kiesling, Director of Administration for MCRSP, participated in the Kansas City Pride Parade alongside Missouri State Representative Emily Weber and her campaign team.

Emily Weber currently serves in the Missouri House of Representatives, representing Jackson County (District 24), and is running for Kansas City Council’s 4th District At-Large seat. The 4th District At-Large councilmember represents a large portion of Kansas City and helps make decisions on city issues such as public safety, housing, infrastructure, economic development, city services, and the city budget.

KC Pride Parade was a celebration of inclusion and visibility that reflects the core values at the heart of recovery—connection, dignity, and belonging. 🌈✨

We also extend our congratulations to all of the nominees for their dedication and service as well as this year’s Mental Health Champions — Matt Chinn, Brandon Borders, and Stephanie Robinson — as well as Brent McGinty for receiving the Lasting Legacy Award. MCRSP recently had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Spring Training Institute, held April 15–17 in Lake Ozark, MO. This annual gathering brought together over 1,000 professionals dedicated to behavioral health and wellness. We were excited to host a vendor booth to share MCRSP resources and connect with so many passionate individuals.

Representing MCRSP were Andy Thomas, Housing Director; Aaron Statler, Assistant Housing Director; and Christa Kiesling, Director of Administration. It was an inspiring few days of learning, networking, and strengthening our shared commitment to supporting Missouri communities.

The Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers (MCRSP) was proud to attend the 28th Annual Missouri Association of Treatment Court Professionals (MATCP) Conference, held March 25–27 at the Branson Convention Center.

With nearly 1,000 attendees from across the state, the conference brought together dedicated professionals committed to supporting individuals on their recovery journeys.

📢 A BIG Step for Recovery in Missouri!

We are thrilled to share that the Missouri Budget Committee has recommended the restoration of $6 million in funding for Recovery Support Services (RSS)! 🙌

This critical support helps countless Missourians access peer-based recovery resources, housing assistance, and vital community programs that make lasting recovery possible.

A huge thank you to everyone who advocated, shared their stories, and stood up for recovery in our state. Your voices made a difference! 💙

While this recommendation is an important step forward, the process isn’t over yet. We will continue working together to ensure this funding is fully approved and protected so recovery support remains available to the people who need it most.

Together, we are building stronger communities and brighter futures for those in recovery.

This week we had the privilege of bringing recovery voices together from across Missouri💙

On Monday, March 2, the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers hosted our Pre-Advocacy Day event at the Courtyard Marriott. It was a great opportunity for our advocates to connect, prepare, and align our efforts ahead of an important day at the Capitol.

Then on Tuesday, March 3, we gathered for our Statewide Advocacy Day at the Missouri State Capitol, joined by representatives from all five of our regional coalitions. Together, we met with legislators, shared the importance of recovery support services, and advocated for policies that strengthen recovery in communities across Missouri.

We are grateful for everyone who showed up, shared their stories, and helped make recovery visible at the Capitol. Your voices continue to make a difference.
