I-44 in both directions in downtown St. Louis (between the Stan Musial and the Poplar Street Bridge) will remain closed through at least next weekend while utility crews evaluate and repair the impacts of a water main break near Broadway and Biddle under the interstate. Several associated ramps leading to the interstate have also been closed. People can use both eastbound and westbound I-70 on the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge and eastbound and westbound I-64/northbound and southbound I-55 on the Poplar Street Bridge remain open, although some ramps to downtown are closed. REMINDER: The north entrance to Rolla Street from Route 72 is scheduled to close TOMORROW, June 15 – 22 for ADA improvements. Motorists and pedestrians will need to use alternate routes.

Heading to or through the St . Louis area? Be aware of traffic diversions on both I-70 & I-44 in the area.

ST. LOUIS- MoDOT is monitoring the situation regarding a sinkhole that developed on North Broadway under Interstate 44 in the City of St. Louis.

The sinkhole has exposed bridge footings on the I-44 bridges over Broadway.

For precautionary measures, MoDOT is in the process of closing the following Saturday night, June 13:

• I-44 westbound/I-70 eastbound will be shut down at Tucker Boulevard/ Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge.

• I-44 eastbound/I-55 northbound will be shut down at the Poplar Street Bridge and includes the ramps from I-64 westbound/Poplar Street Bridge to Walnut and I-44 eastbound.

• Eastbound I-70 express lanes will be closed at Union Boulevard.

•South Broadway at Cass Avenue closed.

•From Illinois, westbound I-64/Walnut Street exit and I-44 eastbound ramp closed.

MoDOT crews will continue to assess potential impacts to I-44 and I-70 in the City of St.Louis.

On June 15, resurfacing work will move to Route 28 between U.S. Route 63 and Pulaski County Route Z. From 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, one lane will remain open with flaggers and a pilot car directing traffic through the work zone.

Our drawing isn't pretty, but the new interchange at US 63 and Route AC in Columbia is gorgeous!! For drivers on both eastbound and westbound Route AC/Grindstone/New Haven - all you have to do is turn RIGHT to get on northbound US 63! NO MORE TURNING LEFT across traffic to go northbound!

UPDATE: 9:22 a.m. 6/12/2026 - the roadway has reopened.

ALERT: Missouri Route 19 is CLOSED until further notice in both directions at Hog Trough Road in Gasconade County, south of Owensville. Motorists should seek an alternate route.

MILLER AND PULASKI COUNTIES: Starting June 15, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, Route U from Route 42 to Route 17 will be reduced to one lane, with flaggers directing traffic through the work zone, for a seal coat.

GREAT NEWS, COLUMBIA! East New Haven Road, Lemone Industrial Boulevard and the northbound U.S. Route 63 ramps are NOW OPEN after an interchange improvement project. Two new signals are also in place and drivers need to exercise patience as everyone becomes used to the new traffic patterns.
