Earlier this afternoon, Wright City High School’s band reached out to us with a simple request... Their practice field doesn’t have lighting, and they asked if we could help. Our agency was happy to step in and provide the equipment they needed.

Whether it’s assisting with something as small as lights for a school band practice or responding to a large-scale disaster, our mission remains the same: to support our community whenever and however we can.

Thank you, Wright City High School, for reaching out, we’re always glad to help!

☀️ Ever wonder what we’re up to on blue sky days? We train!

Today’s WebEOC refresher course with the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency had us managing some interesting calls from the City of Arlen:

📞 Hank Hill reported an explosion at his propane station.

💧 Bill Dauterive let us know the Tut Rampy Dam was cracking and requested shelter resources.

From propane problems to dam disasters, WebEOC helps us manage and watch the scope of a disaster before, during, and after they happen. Even on calm days, we’re busy sharpening our skills so we’re ready when it’s the real deal!

Welcome to National Emergency Management Awareness Month!

Every day, emergency managers work to keep our communities safe, prepared, and resilient. They plan, train, coordinate, and step in when it matters most. This month is about putting a spotlight on that work and showing why it matters.

When disaster strikes, should you stay or go?

You probably know what to do in case of a tornado or fire. But what if you need to evacuate or shelter in place because of a hazardous chemical spill?
