At a time when Missouri is discussing new accountability measures for schools, reconsidering how schools are funded, addressing teacher recruitment and retention, and asking schools to produce stronger outcomes for students, we cannot separate those expectations from the resources necessary to meet them.

Accountability and investment have to live in the same conversation.

The Missouri State Board of Education settled an impasse on the budget by agreeing to cut a proposed increase to schools' state aid.

After many faithful years, MAESP is retiring our familiar one-room schoolhouse logo and introducing a new look. Our new logo keeps us rooted in Missouri while reflecting leadership, direction, and the school leaders we serve. You will see it appear across MAESP.

The schoolhouse logo remains part of our history, and some throwback swag may arrive before today’s kindergarteners graduate in 2039. While our logo is changing, our purpose is not. MAESP remains committed to supporting, developing, connecting, and advocating for Missouri’s elementary and middle-level school leaders.

The 2026 Educational Office Professionals Conference stands adjourned! To those who joined us - you were fantastic! You are often the first face and smile, the steady voice, and the calm for your schools. Your work matters more than most people ever realize. This year’s theme, “Elevate Your Skills. Elevate Your Schools.” was our shared purpose. Through learning, collaboration, laughter, and meaningful conversations, we were reminded that when office professionals grow, entire schools grow stronger.
