On Tuesday, we hosted another Ready to Retire seminar in Jefferson City. MOSERS Educator Molly Stern impressed attendees with her incredible memory skills—she was able to name each member in the room to illustrate that their retirement decisions are as individual as they are—and her expert retirement benefit knowledge. Attendees learned about the benefit formula and the factors that contribute to their lifetime pension benefit. Molly even gave away some MOSERS swag to a few members with 30+ years of service.

On June 11, we staffed a DOC benefit fair at Farmington Correctional Center, where we had the opportunity to meet several of our members.

“Keep up the good work,” shared MOSERS retiree David Gillispie, who visited with Education Outreach Coordinator Lisa Campbell during the event. David worked for DOC for 18 years and retired in 2005, so he has been receiving a lifetime pension benefit for more than 21 years.

June is wedding season!
If you’re a MOSERS retiree who was single at retirement and elected the life income annuity, you can elect a survivor benefit for your new spouse if you get married. Keep in mind that you have one year from your marriage date to elect a joint & survivor option for your spouse.
