This month we continue honoring the women of Jeanerette who are making history, breaking barriers, and inspiring the next generation. Their stories remind us that leadership, creativity, and perseverance live right here in our community.
Today we celebrate three remarkable women whose accomplishments continue to influence others.
We recognize Javashia Martin Guy, a talented digital culinary content creator, social media chef, and author who has built a powerful online presence with more than 280,000 followers. Through her creativity in the kitchen and her engaging content, she has turned her passion into a platform that inspires people far beyond Jeanerette.
We also celebrate Alice Johnson, who made local history as the first African American bank teller at First National Bank in Jeanerette. Her achievement opened doors and created opportunities that helped move our community forward.
And we honor Regina Alexander Ceasar, an author and the first Kwanzaa Queen, whose work celebrates culture, storytelling, and heritage. Through her writing and community involvement, she continues to uplift and educate.
These women represent the strength, vision, and influence of Jeanerette’s daughters. Each one, in her own way, is helping shape the story of our community.
During Women’s History Month, we proudly say thank you to the women who guide us, connect us, and influence the future of Jeanerette.
