"The Weather Radio Network" is an organization that provides daily weather forecast, by Meteorologist and Special Weather Forecasters, to radio stations all across the country! Our main job is providing forecast Monday through Friday as few as four times per day (mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnights) that can be repeated every hour in those time periods, or as often as every hour, or eve
ry hour during peak driving times. Depending on your station and market's needs. If we don't already have a plan set up for your station's needs, it's no problem setting up a plan specialized to your specific station's needs, at no additional charge! Additionally, included in all of our plans that we offer, as a free, but very valuable bonus service is; we keep both a Meteorologist and a Specialized Weather Forecaster on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, during times of severe weather (including severe Winter weather too) that are prepared to give live updates on the weather, until the danger has passed... For more severe weather situations, we have the ability and are prepared to go on the air live, with "long form" or "wall to wall" weather coverage anytime the weather calls for it (e.g. when there's a Tornado Warning in effect for a county in your coverage area)... Further more, we have enough qualified staff to provide this service to all of our stations, even when there is severe weather occurring in other area of the country, where we have affiliates, that may also need live "wall to wall" severe weather coverage too.....
Additionally, as Meteorologist working in the field, we have direct access to National Weather Service Forecast Offices, all across the country! This direct access is accessed through a private and restricted (not for the general public) government chat program. Through this chat program we can directly ask The National Weather Service specific questions, forward damage reports we may receive from various sources and we in turn will see spotter information, messages from each county's Emergency Management Agency, 911, law enforcement, fire and rescue departments, and others! This information is seen in real time, as is our communication with them and it is information that we can in turn pass on to the listeners of our affiliate stations! Finally, when we provide weather coverage to our affiliate radio stations, especially during long form, wall to wall, severe weather coverage know how to present weather information to a LISTENING audience, unlike our friends in television Meteorology who are passing weather information to their VIEWING audience, generally with a weather map behind them. We covey weather information to our LISTENERS knowing that they can not see the maps and radar images that we are looking at. Bearing this in mind, we covey weather information to our listeners using landmarks, highways, roads, intersections, and such to assist our listeners with painting a mental image of a storm, based on the AUDIO information that we will be giving them... Doing this type of radio weather forecasting is something that comes as second nature to our staff because we all come from radio backgrounds!!!
