Happy Retirement, Rhonda Lane!

On this post-planning day, we gathered to celebrate the remarkable career of Mrs. Lane. Over her 30 years in education, she positively impacted countless students, families, and colleagues. Known for her attention to detail and unwavering advocacy for doing what is best for children, she leaves a lasting legacy at Hill City.

As Dr. Kretschmar shared, “Hill City is a better place because Rhonda was in the building.”

Summer meals are available at no cost to children 18 and under. Free summer meals start June 1st and end July 16th, 2026 at the following location:
Pickens High School - 500 Dragon Drive, Jasper
Monday - Thursday from 11:00 to 11:30

Pick up is located inside the school in the hallway between the cafeteria and the weight training room. Enter the school at the outdoor courtyard entrance on the side of the school facing the tennis courts and baseball field.

Thank you to our amazing community partners for treating our fourth-grade students to gift bags filled with certificates for free meals, drinks, ice cream, cookies, and more!

Our students are excited to visit your businesses with their families and enjoy these special treats this summer. We are so grateful for your generosity and support of our Hawks!

On the school calendar for the 2025-2026 school year, the last day of school on Friday, May 22nd is a half day. This was done to ensure a smooth and timely conclusion to the school year, as well as efficient transportation for both students and graduation attendees for the Class of 2026's graduation ceremony that evening.

Dismissal Times for Friday, May 22nd - Pickens High School and Pickens Junior High will have a 11:15 dismissal. All remaining schools (Harmony, Hill City, Tate and Jasper Middle) will have an 11:30 dismissal. Graduation will be Friday, May 22nd at 7:00 PM at Pickens High School stadium.

A huge thank you to Wildlife Wonders for bringing these amazing animals to Hill City for our final behavior celebration for this school year! Our students loved the experience and had so much fun learning about these incredible creatures. Thank you for helping us end the year with excitement, wonder, and unforgettable memories!
