🌟 Faculty Spotlight: A Symphony of Adventure! 🌟

At Chattanooga State’s Kimball site, our instructors are masters of their craft and explorers at heart. Today, we are hitting a high note by featuring the multi-talented Teresa Elliott!

If you’ve spent any time around the music department, you know Ms. Elliott. She doesn’t just teach music; she lives it. A true virtuoso, Ms. Elliott plays an entire orchestra’s worth of instruments. Her expertise spans from the K-12 classroom to the collegiate level, where she currently shares her passion with students at both Chattanooga State and UTC. Whether she’s leading a band or mentoring a solo performer, her life is a beautiful arrangement of rhythm and harmony.

But this summer, Teresa is trading her conductor’s baton for trekking poles!

🥾 The Grand Adventure: The Camino Português
Alongside her colleague Mrs. Bushrow, Ms. Elliott is embarking on a 30-day, 200-mile spiritual and physical pilgrimage: The Camino de Santiago. They will be navigating the historic Portuguese Way, traveling from Lisbon, Portugal, to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

The Journey Beyond the Classroom:
For Teresa, this trek is the ultimate crescendo. While she is a dedicated mom to her son and a lover of all pets (with a very special place in her heart for her beagles!), she is also a true lover of the outdoors. This "grand adventure" is the perfect blend of her resilient spirit and her thirst for adventure.

🌟 Faculty Spotlight: The Adventure of a Lifetime! 🌟
At Chattanooga State’s Kimball site, we are lucky to have instructors who don’t just teach they inspire. Today, we are shining a light on the incredible Sue Bushrow!

If you’ve taken College Success for Health Science, Intro to Psychology, or Lifespan Development, you know Sue’s vivacious energy and her deep respect for the journey of life. When she isn’t guiding our students toward academic success, she is a licensed therapist, helping others navigate life's challenges through faith and healing.

But this summer, Mrs. Bushrow is taking her "lifespan development" expertise on the road—literally!

🥾 The Grand Adventure: The Camino Português
Mrs. Bushrow, alongside with Ms. Elliott are about to embark on a 30-day spiritual and physical pilgrimage: The Camino de Santiago. They will be walking the Portuguese Way, a journey that demands resilience, spirit, and a whole lot of heart.

The Distance:
Sue will be trekking approximately 200 miles from Lisbon, Portugal, all the way to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

This isn't just a walk; it’s a historic trek through ancient forests, cobblestone villages, and coastal paths. While she’ll certainly miss her husband, her two daughters, and her dogs, Sue is ready to embrace the world and see what this "grand adventure" has in store.

We might be back here in Tennessee, but Sue is bringing us along for the ride! Over the next month, she will be sharing updates and photos from the trail. We can’t wait to see the landscapes she discovers along the way.

Congratulations, Alicia Condra!

🎓Today we honor our girl, Alicia Condra, on an incredible accomplishment! Alicia has been part of the Valley View family for 16 years, serving as an LPN and our Director of Nursing—the true backbone of our clinical team.

Over the past two years, many have seen her juggling a demanding schedule, putting in the time, heart, and determination to take the next step in her journey. And today… she did it! 💙 Today was her pinning, and tomorrow she graduates as an RN!

To say we are proud is an understatement. Alicia, your dedication, strength, and love for our residents and team never go unnoticed. You have juggled your faith, family, education and profession with such grace!
