Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and honors the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans throughout our nation's history.

As Democrats, we recognize that the work of building a more just and equitable society continues. On this Juneteenth, let us reflect on our history, celebrate freedom, and recommit ourselves to the ongoing pursuit of equality and opportunity for all.

We enjoyed getting to stop by River City Rising’s event today!

As you may know, this isn’t Rep. Mark Messmer’s first time with his face on a milk carton! We are wondering, as his constituents, where is he?? Since taking office in January 2025, he has not held a town hall, so we decided, we’re hosting one with or without him!

Join us next Saturday, June 20th for a Town Hall With or Without Rep. Mark Messmer. We have sent the invitation, and all we ask is for him to talk with us, his constituents in the 8th district. We’d like to have him hear our thoughts, and concerns. We believe open dialogue and respectful conversation is exactly how change is made, and that’s what we would like for this to be!

Unfortunately it does seem as though our representative, will be missing at the event, but the door is open and the invitation is out there. We hope to see him there (and you too!)

Next Saturday, June 20th, 2PM at EVPL Central in the Browning Room!
