I want to take a moment to share an update and refocus on what this campaign is really about. Recently, I was not selected for endorsement by our local newspaper. I respect the role they play in our community and the importance of their editorial process. At the same time, I’ve been clear throughout this campaign that I’m an independent thinker who isn’t afraid to ask questions, voice my perspective, and not simply go along to get along.
I’m running for City Council because I believe Janesville deserves leadership that listens carefully, thinks critically, and represents everyone in our city, not just those with the loudest voices or the most influence. For over 20 years, I’ve worked in human services, directly alongside individuals and families across this community. That experience has shaped how I approach challenges: listening first, staying grounded in real-world impacts, and focusing on practical, thoughtful solutions.
My priorities are clear. I support responsible economic development that strengthens our local economy without sacrificing the health, safety, and long-term well-being of our neighborhoods. I believe in fiscal responsibility, but also in making smart, forward looking investments. Decisions should be guided by data, transparency, and a full understanding of their impact on residents, not just short-term gains.
Just as important is how we lead. Our city works best when people feel heard and respected. As a council member, I will approach every conversation with professionalism and civility, even when we disagree. Every resident, regardless of background, neighborhood, or perspective, deserves to know their voice matters.
This campaign isn’t about endorsements, it’s about people. I’m committed to continuing to show up, listen, and earn your trust. I’m hopeful about where our community is headed and what we can build together.
