🧠 What is the Intuit Bookkeeping Certification?

This is no easy feat! The Intuit Certified Bookkeeping Specialist exam is a rigorous, industry-recognized credential that proves these students have mastered foundational accounting principles and professional bookkeeping practices. The exam covers:

-Accounting Basics: Double-entry bookkeeping, tracking assets, liabilities, and equity.

-Business Transactions: Managing accounts payable/receivable, payroll essentials, and ledger reconciliation.

-Financial Reporting: Creating and analyzing crucial business documents like balance sheets and income statements.

Hello Parker alumni! We have some old and new yearbooks for sale (Parker, Janesville High School, and middle schools)! Send an email to [email protected] if you'd like one or more reserved for you! Reserved books must be picked up and paid for by July 10th.

Parker Yearbook prices vary by year:
1969-2021 are $5
2022 is $10
2024 is $30
2025 is $50
2026 (current edition) is $80

Janesville High School (1919,1933,1948-1950) are $10

Edison, Franklin and Marshall 1970s-1990s are $10 as well!

YOU MUST EMAIL IN ORDER TO RESERVE BOOKS. They are housed in storage and are not accessible by office staff! Once reserved, they will be brought to the office for pick-up.

Please join us in congratulating Steve Strieker, Social Studies teacher at Parker High School - Janesville, WI, on his retirement! His career in the School District of Janesville spanned 23 years!

Before joining the SDJ, Steve obtained his bachelor's degree in history from Quincy University -- later earning his Master's degree in education from UW-Stout. He previously taught at Quincy Notre Dame High School in Illinois.

"My time with the SDJ has been an enriching experience teaching and learning with a diverse student population and a dedicated crew of colleagues," he said. "I was extremely lucky to work with my brother, Jim Strieker, at Parker High School for almost two decades.

"I will retire proud of my work and the meaningful moments shared with students and colleagues. Yet, I leave frustrated by the long-term financial erosion teachers have endured since Act 10 and the increasing overemphasis on standardized testing. In retirement, I will continue to be an advocate for better public school funding and a curriculum that is as diverse and vibrant as the students we serve."

Congratulations, Steve, and thank you for your years of dedicated service. We hope you find retirement equally fulfilling!

Please join us in congratulating Li-Ming Khan, Chinese teacher at Joseph A. Craig High School and Parker High School - Janesville, WI, on her retirement! Her career in the School District of Janesville spanned 16 years!

Before joining the SDJ, Li-Ming earned her bachelor's degree in art at Anshan Normal University in the Liaoning province of China. She also taught English in China.

"Reflecting on my career in the Janesville School DIstrict, my journey has been a rewarding cross-cultural exchange," she said. "Working alongside diverse colleagues and students has allowed me to learn the subtle nuances of American culture 'behind the curtain' while sharing my own heritage in return.

"I am passionate about teaching Mandarin and find great joy in seeing my students discover new perspectives through Chinese culture, building bridges through education and mutual understanding."

Congratulations, Li-Ming, and thank you for your years of dedicated service. We hope you find retirement equally fulfilling!
