🚨 Day One of Classroom Casualty Kit Deliveries! 🚨

Today, officers began delivering Classroom Casualty Kits to classrooms throughout Rock County.

These kits were made possible through the generous support of our community and funds raised during the Rock County School Safety Night with the Janesville Jets, held at the Woodman’s Sports Center on February 14, 2026.

Thanks to everyone who attended, donated, fundraised, or helped make the event a success, those efforts are now making a direct impact in our classrooms.

📦 Today’s Classroom Casualty Kits were delivered to:

▪School District of Beloit

This video is shocking—but unfortunately, it’s not unique. Our dedicated crossing guards face these dangers far too often while simply trying to safely cross children on their way to and from school. We’ve increased enforcement at school crossings across Janesville, and we’re seeing the same violations again and again: distracted drivers on their phones, speeding through school zones (remember, it’s 15 mph when children are present), and outright failure to stop for crossing guards, as shown in this video. Please slow down, pay attention, and stop for our crossing guards. Lives depend on it.

The Janesville Fire Department, Janesville Fire Fighters Local 580, and the Janesville Police Department will gather on Friday, September 11, in Firehouse Park (113 N. Main St.) for a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. The remembrance will begin at 9 a.m. and include brief remarks and a moment of silence.

The public is invited to attend and join our community in honoring the lives lost and the enduring legacy of that day.
