💙 Happy National Children's Day!

Every child should have the opportunity to grow up healthy, safe, and supported. Public health and our community partners work every day to promote healthy environments, prevent illness and injury, and help children thrive from infancy through adolescence.

Together, we can build healthier futures for all children.

💧 April’s flooding may be long over – but cleanup doesn’t always end when the water is gone.

Mold can keep growing in damp materials, even months after flooding.

If you had water damage, check again for musty odors, discoloration, or materials that never fully dried.

⚕️New brands of naloxone are becoming available. While NARCAN is the most well-known brand, other brands contain the same active ingredient and have been proven to reverse opioid overdoses.

➣RiVive is a 3-mg, lower-dose product that is less likely to cause withdrawal symptoms.

➣Padagis is the same dose as NARCAN.

All three products are nasal spray devices administered in the same way. RiVive is now available at the SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital vending machine and the Beloit Hospital vending machine.

As warmer weather arrives and parents are attending graduation parties, cookouts, and family gatherings, remember these tips on breastfeeding safely!

Choose beverages to stay hydrated, such as sparkling waters or lemonade while limiting caffeine and alcohol. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that the safest option is to avoid alcohol altogether while breastfeeding.
