🗣️🗣️PUBLIC SEVICE ANNOUNCEMENT🗣️🗣️

The 400 blk. of Main Street will be closed until Public Works can located and fix a water leak.

UPDATE 2:10pm. Water service will be turned off in the 300 blk and 400 blk of main st. So public works and repair the water main. This post will be updated when water service is restored.

Update: 2:49pm. Fixes are in place. The leak has been stopped. PW is working on flushing hydrants and restoring water currently.

Update: 4:14pm. Water has been restored and pressure issues should be correcting. Please let us know if you continue to have pressure issues.

Update: 6:53pm. The 400 blk of Main St. will remain closed through Monday so Public Works can fix the areas of roadway that had to be removed.

Last week, K9 Indy and Officer Luck attended the DLE Tracking Seminar at Camp Dodge, hosted by MCTC. During the seminar, they had the opportunity to work with experienced instructors from the United Kingdom, Sweden, South Africa, Canada, and the United States Border Patrol.

K9 Indy and Officer Luck gained valuable insight into how K9 teams from around the world approach tracking and scent work. They were also provided the opportunity to build on their existing skills, learn new techniques, and work through a variety of different tracking scenarios.

Due to the potential for inclement weather this afternoon, Janesville’s National Night Out Event is canceled.

A helpful brochure from the Iowa DOT on E-Bikes and E-Scooters.

One important item that has been easily overlooked is that for an E-Bike to be eligible for our kids to use it is required to have working pedals. If it does not have working and functional pedals, then it does not meet the Iowa definition of the Low-Speed Electric Bicycle and is potentially subject to registration and licensure to operate.

For those parents who have kids riding around on public streets with little electric dirtbikes and other similar machines without working pedals, you'll want to promptly correct that issue to be in compliance with Iowa code.

Parents - as we prepare for our Janesville Days Festival, please remind your children to leave bikes, scooters, skateboards and any other mode of transportation at home if they plan on being at the festival.

These modes of transportation will not be allowed on closed streets due to heavy foot traffic by festival attendees. Kids will be asked to leave the first time, if they are seen using these items.

Please do your part to make the weekend enjoyable for everyone.
