Big Sister Pam and Little Sister Harmony cuddled a calf! 🐮💚

The pair went to Delaware Valley University for their A-day celebration.

They toured the campus via tractor, watched pig races, tickled a rat, cuddled with a calf, and met all kinds of farm animals! 🚜🐖🐄

Now that's certainly a day well spent! 🙌

Meet Marshall 👋🦷

Marshall is a wonderful Little in our School-Based Mentorship Program at Fallsington Elementary School — and he recently gained a new smile milestone with one less tooth!

Through BBBSBC, Marshall is paired with a caring mentor who gives him a trusted shoulder to lean on as he navigates his early school years. Together, they meet regularly after school to talk, play, learn, and build a meaningful friendship.

From big conversations to little milestones (like a missing tooth!) our matches are there for it all. 💚

👋 Hi! We’re Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County.

For more than 60 years, we’ve been facilitating meaningful, one-to-one mentorship connections between caring adult volunteers and local youth who could benefit from extra support, encouragement, and opportunity.

We serve disadvantaged youth in our community, providing them with a reliable mentor to learn from and rely on. Many of the youth in our programs struggle with disadvantaged circumstances (single-parent homes, family members who've been incarcerated/struggle with addiction, etc.)

Our mentors, "Big Brothers" or "Big Sisters", meet twice a month with their mentees, "Little Brothers" or "Little Sisters". From trying new activities to building confidence and navigating life’s challenges, our Bigs show up in powerful ways for their Littles, and those relationships often last a lifetime.💚

Celebrating Little Sister Hatzen and Big Sister Courtney!

This match has been together since 2018, and will soon be graduating from our program. 🎓✨

Upon reflecting on their 8 years together, their words brought tears to our eyes:

💬 Little Sister Hayzen: "I believe the most impactful part about being in BBBS is being a part of a community. I know that a lot of kids/parents sign up to become a Little and go in feeling alone. For me, being an only child, I didn't have a certain person to talk to besides my parent, and just being a part of BBBS helped me get out of my shell and my comfort zone."

💬 Big Sister Courtney: "The most impactful part of being a Big for me is that our time together is so enjoyable for both me and my Little. Making plans to hang out with my Little is the same as making plans to hang out with my friends or family, if not more important. We're not just mentor and mentee, we are friends. I am grateful and appreciative of our friendship."

Mentorship has a ripple effect. 💚

One of the things we love most about our School-Based Mentorship Programs is seeing the bonds formed between Bigs and Littles, and the meaningful relationships our staff build with students along the way. 🎒✏️

While high school Bigs mentor elementary school Littles, many also look to our BBBSBC staff for guidance, encouragement, and support. Our School-Based Mentorship staff does more than facilitate the program; they write college recommendation letters, celebrate milestones, and show up for students year after year.

You could say the program has a BIG impact on everyone involved! 👏

2 lives changed over 17+ years... you'll want to read this story! 🥹

Little Brother Aury was just 10 years old when he was matched with his Big Brother Dennis through BBBSBC in 2010.

Over the years, the two built a strong, meaningful bond and officially “graduated” from our program when Aury turned 18.🎓

But like so many of the incredible matches made through BBBSBC, their relationship didn’t end there.

Now, 17 years later, Aury is 27 years old and still has Dennis by his side as a trusted mentor, friend, and lifelong supporter. 🙌💫

Watching Aury grow into the amazing adult he is today is a powerful reminder of what one consistent, caring relationship can do.
